I find these pieces amazing and really wish I could see them in real life. I have read that the artist elongates the drawing on the sidewalk so that they look normal and 3D as you walk up to them. If looking from a birds eye view you see the deformation. I think it is really interesting that an artist took a project I’m sure we all did as kids and turned it into this spectacular piece of art work. The only problem is that the pieces are not permanent since chalk does disintegrate with water.
