Slow Design for Everyone

This first design integrates a water pump to create an interactive sprinkler.  A button on the side allows the user to turn on the sprinkler and play n it for 20 seconds, then it shuts off.
This project fits principles 2 and 3.  It fits the second principle because it considers and alternate function for the object and its surroundings.  It turns a regular water pump into an exciting sprinkler for anyone to play in.  It fits the third principle because it induces contemplation.  The artist designed this not only to function as a play thing, but also to make users think about water spillage an consumption.
This design intrigues me because it reminds me of when i was little and would play in the sprinklers at the park, or even in an over fire hydrant.  I enjoy this piece because the artist designed something beautiful, thought-provoking, and interactive.

This piece uses rip stop nylon fabric to defuse the light from street lamps to create softer, more natural, lighting.  It simply slips over the existing fixture.
This project follows principles 1 and 2.  It fits the second principle because it changes the objects surrounding by defusing the light and creating a softer, but equally as bright, environment around the lamp.  It fits the first principle because it reveals an experience that is missed in the everyday.  By creating this cover, the artist created an interesting orb that brings attention to the lamp post and the light, something that is usually glanced over.
This design intrigues me because it looks like an oceanic life form.  It kind of resembles a deep-sea animals bio luminescence. It adds a eerie, yet calm, feeling to its environment that I can not get enough of.
