In public places, we are used to seeing advertisements, but we usually don’t see some that are as impactful as this one. A paper towel dispenser, which shows a transparent image of Africa, and every time a towel is taken, the less green the continent becomes. This design shows both examples of “Reveal” and “Participate”. Anyone participating will take a sheet of paper towel, but also will be aware of the fact that while we unknowingly use and toss away large amounts of paper, we are actually hurting the planet which informs the public.[http://inhabitat.com/world-wildlife-federation-super-smart-eco-ad-campaigns/]
Fantasy Projects
A project I had in mind was a LED audio spectrum analyzer, but on a much larger scale. I plan to have the spectrum be able to cover up a large portion of a wall with a connector so anyone would be able to connect it to their own device, and also speakers alongside the audio analyzer, and the lights change colors due to the sound. This will be an example of “Participate” because it will get many involved; it will also be an example of “Evolve” because it will get individuals thinking of any alternative projection of sound other than music to show.
Another project I had in mind was another LED wallboard, but this time it is hooked up to an electric keyboard. Whenever you press a key, it then projects a significant color/pattern on the board. You will then be able to record a tune and play it back to project on the board. This will also be an example of “Participate” because it gets people involved; it will also be an example of “Evolve” because it will get people to come up with their own songs, or key patterns to project
