The designer Libero Rutilo created 3D printed ornamental vases that wraps around recycled water bottles for floral arrangements.Rutilio combines beauty with utility found in everyday objects.Water bottles are consumed and thrown away into our environment such as trashcans which travels into our landfills. We look at water bottles as practical tools for consumption but not a object of beauty. Rutilo extends the usefulness of water bottles from consumption to a receptacle for plant life.The slow design principles used within this project are evolve and reveal. Evolving the water bottle from object of short life to an object of utility is interesting to me. Rutilo reveals the uses of mundane objects that people take for granted in our life as a consumer.

Simposh has developed a portable espresso machine which evolve the clunky coffee makers within your home or office into a manual machine that exposes the process of making a cup of espresso while on your commute.The ability to make your own cup of coffee by hand with a simple machine is a fun experience. The portability of this object blends into our daily of lives of the twenty-first century. We are constantly moving in our lives from walking,car and public transportation which we can experience in one day. The Simpresso use the slow design principles of engage and expand. To engage into the process of making coffee while commuting is a new experience to consumers while expanding the thought process of designing objects for portability.

1. My first idea is to create a Sound Touch disk that can be easily portable which can be loaded with mp3s or bluetooth capable. The disk can be controlled by touch with a LED display.Volume, light show and play control display will all be incorporated into the design. I would utilize the slow design principles of engage and expand within this design.  The touch disk can be controlled by blue tooth which can placed into social environments to play music from phones or computer. 
2. My second idea is creating an LED cube that can tell the weather and temperatures by color. A sensor from outside will give information about the weather and the information will be displayed by color and subtle flashes to alert the user about the weather outside.For example rain will be displayed as yellow and the amount of flashes will show the severity of rain. The design principles of reflect and engage will be utilized within this design.
