Jason Jimenez, Interlocked

This interlocked art piece also takes into account something that I have used in my childhood. The little alien is from a videogame medium and I decided that I would like to make the little alien a sort of statue. Although not taking into account how large the final constructed figure would be. The size certainly makes him more than little, as he dwarfs many of the smaller objects in my room. One of the more interesting aspects is choosing exactly where I would put most of my interlocked slices. As there is focus more on his arms and legs as they are chubby and shorter than a humans(typically two of the most vulnerable and typically thinnest and more prone to breaking off) I put more crisscrossing slices at those areas. His form is something in which I feel could be beneficial for this project as it is stocky and supportive in comparison to a humans posture normally is. The size of the figure gave me some drawbacks as I had to be careful on the creature tipping over. But thankfully I had already prepared for that by virtue of where I placed my slices in the first place. In the end this was a fun process in constructing the little creature!

The chipboard was very thin but also sturdy, a good material overall.
