For this project I decided to draw my own image for the laser engraving in photoshop using my own drawing tablet. I wanted to draw a environment piece because the burning of the image onto the wood was something that I found fitting with the materials used. I made the trees look almost mushroom-y in a sense because I recall the same type of tree that is found in a very isolated island in the world. One of the coolest things is that there are places that have very divergent fauna because they are no assimilated by the more prosperous types of vegetation. I wanted to have that same feeling, in a way I think the movie Avatar also gave me some inspiration now that I think about it.

Overall I am very pleased with the quality of both versions of the laser cut as it is something that could be hung. The stylistic approach that I went with is something that came out pleasantly well, when I am looking closely at the finer details.
