Assignment 1: Support Object – Daniel Barrera

Titled “Ship in a Bottle” for my first assignment I wanted to keep it a bit simple and create a popular novelty item that is often collected or given as gifts to loved ones. I combined a bit of the techniques that we have learned so far such as slcijng, meshing, warping and voronoi. it consists of a whole bottle sliced in half with various details pretruding from the bottle mesh such as mountains, waves, and even a small island. Originally the island featured a tree but was cut out due to it being very small and thin, there were also four small sails (only one of them survived). To me, this represents the journey one takes to reach that something special, across the way you cross a lot of obstacles, waves the push you back, mountains that stop you in your tracks but eventually you reach the treasure, the goal one has been striving for.

this was printed with glow in the dark filament which gives it a ghostly appearence upon seeing it in the dark. it’s dimensions are:
X: 208mm (8.1inch)
Y: 94mm (3.7inch)
Z: 70mm (2.7inch)
