Rhea

For my engraving I originally wanted to do a picture with some day of the dead motifs, but I noticed that a lot of people were working with patterns already. So instead I became curious to see what results I would get if I engraved wood with an image trace of a picture of a Rhea.

The wood material worked more for my image because it gave it sort of a texture that is visible through the burn marks, it looks like a gradient depending on the angle and light. Tracing a real-life photo also had a pop art type aesthetic which I thought was interesting looking.
