PROJECT DESCRIPTION
My sister, who enjoys collecting a variety of miniature figurines, served as my inspiration for the 3D porcelain piece. Making porcelain figures of myself as installations seemed intriguing to me. I realized that as I continued designing, my subconscious began to consider my model. The object was increasingly perceived as a humorous social media meme, the internal female identity thinking, and childhood memories of fish. I decided to use porcelain for my 3D printing project. I used to think that I preferred porcelain because of its texture, but later I understood that it might also be that I want people to treasure and persevere in my work. In the process of making my installation, I was able to use 3D printing to bring to mind a fundamental aspect of who I am that I had been ignoring for a while.
